The Adventure Baby successfully completed her first plane trip (to Asheville and back this weekend to visit Grandma, Great-Aunt Charlie, Great-Grandmom and Great-Grandpop Newell) with very little fuss and much aplomb. She was a super sweet lady to all of her relatives who remarked on her good nature and cleverness. Great-Grandmom had various animal toys that sang when you squeezed a paw or foot and Julia quickly figured out where to press each one to start them up. We went to visit the little waterfall and koi pond behind the retirement home and she was very excited to see the fish. In fact, that was her new word for the weekend -- except she could only say the end, so every time she saw a fish, it was "sh, sh." She was also saying "hi" quite clearly and often adding a wave.
Meantime, I discovered that "da" applies to both me and Ken. He is more often "daddy" (except she doesn't pronounce the middle, so it's more like "da-ee") and I am just "da." Perhaps some day I will graduate to "ma" or "mama" or "mommy." And then I will probably be sorry, because then I will also hear "Mommmmeeeeeeeee!!!" 0 comments
